On January 28 and 29, 2026, Bordeaux will host the 5th edition of the International Lipids & Cosmetics Congress, a leading scientific and industrial event dedicated to lipids and their applications in cosmetics. The conferences will also be available digitally.
A major issue for the industry, innovation in the field of lipids is at the heart of the Lipids & Cosmetics conference dedicated to the latest research and innovations in the fields of skin physiology, oleochemical processes, extraction, purification and analytical techniques as well as new formulation technologies based on raw materials of lipidic origin.
Today, there are new challenges to consider, such as naturalness, durability, inclusiveness, and customisation. Lipids play an essential role in this transformation: essential to the skin’s structure and its protection, lipids are central to modern formulations, combining biological efficacy with caring for the environment.
The search for transparency and ethical solutions is particularly important to consumers, who wish to better understand the composition of the products they buy, where they come from, and want the assurance of their health and environmental harmlessness. Along with that objective, there is a growing demand for traceability and reliable certifications. The sensory experience remains fundamental to winning over consumers, fostering their loyalty, and striving to better understand what an ever-more informed public wants. As such, today’s cosmetics are formulated at the crossroads of scientific expertise, ethical commitment, and sensory emotion.
With all that in mind, the Lipids & Cosmetics 2026 congress will be organised around five themes, centred on lipids and their applications for:
• Their biological properties
• The development of ingredients and supply chains for raw materials
• Formulation and the sensory experience
• Their processes and design
• Analysis of lipids and characterisation of their effects
