As it does every year, Ecovia Intelligence brings together industry professionals to discuss sustainability issues in the cosmetics sector. This 18th European edition will take place in Paris on 27 and 28 October 2026. It will be organised into four sessions. Here are the initial details.
Sustainability developments
The first session provides an overview of the major developments in the sector. The opening keynote will focus on green chemistry and its role in more sustainable cosmetics. This will be followed by an update on regulations, which are playing an increasingly pivotal role in Europe, and then presentations on sustainable packaging, decarbonisation and best practices in responsible procurement.
Green ingredients
The second session will be devoted to new and emerging green ingredients. The first part will focus on regenerative agriculture and its contribution to soil health, as well as the growing importance of certification. The second part will focus on new technologies: ingredients derived from fermentation and the role of artificial intelligence in more sustainable formulations. A round-table discussion will explore the future of these ingredients, which have long been plant-based but are now increasingly derived from biotechnology.
Supply chains
The third session will examine supply chains, which have become increasingly unstable. In recent years, the supply of ingredients has been affected by Covid-19, climate change, customs duties, new regulations and geopolitical conflicts. The session will present a tool designed to improve the transparency and traceability of natural ingredients.
