On October 9, 2025, the Commission published a corrigendum to the Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No.1223/2009 in five different language versions in the Official Journal of the European Union. The aim is to standardize the labeling of the list of ingredients.
Five language versions are affected by this corrigendum:
• FR: French
• EL: Greek
• HR: Croatian
• PT: Portuguese
• RO: Romanian
What is changing
In these five cases, this corrigendum amends point (g) of paragraph 1 of Article 19 of the Cosmetics Regulation (Labelling) to replace the term “ingredients” (in the national language) preceding the list of ingredients with the single term: “ingredients” (in English).
In concrete terms:
• FR: the term “ingrédients” is replaced by “ingredients”
• EL: the term “συστατικά” is replaced by “ingredients”
• HR: the term “sastojci” is replaced by “ingredients”
• PT: the term “ingredientes” is replaced by “ingredients”
• RO: the term “ingrediente” is replaced by “ingredients”
