
Planity, an online beauty appointment booking platform, provides a detailed overview of French people’s cosmetic practices in its 2025 barometer.
This study is based on the analysis of more than 280 million appointments made on the Planity platform between January 2024 and August 2025. “This is one of the largest real-time data sets on beauty practices in France, offering a reliable and representative view of consumer habits,” comments the company.
Women, the pillars of beauty consumption
The report confirms the central role of women in the beauty world. They account for 70% of bookings and spend an average of €77 per month, more than double that of men (€34).
In May 2025, nearly 8% of online appointments were booked for a loved one, and in more than three out of four cases, by women.
Digital technology drives flexibility
Beauty treatments are now organized around busy schedules. More than 54% of appointments are booked outside of traditional opening hours (early in the morning, late at night, or on Mondays, historically a slow day for the sector).
Friday is the most popular day, ahead of Saturday and Thursday.
