Consumers looking for products with the European Ecolabel

On 8 October 2026, the European Commission published the latest Eurobarometer survey on the European Ecolabel. The survey reveals a positive trend surrounding this label.

The survey was carried out amongst approximately 25,566 people across the 27 Member States between 31 August and 6 September 2026. It shows a marked increase in awareness of and trust in the European Ecolabel amongst European consumers.

Key figures

• 81 per cent of Europeans believe that labelled products have a lower environmental impact than similar products, compared with 75 per cent in 2023.
• 46 per cent recognise the ‘flower’ logo, an increase of 8 percentage points since 2023.
• 66 per cent say they sometimes or often buy any type of product bearing the label.
• The range of certified products continues to grow: 121,083 products now carry the label, spread across 3,665 licences.
• Consumers want even more labelled products; in particular, 35 per cent of them would like to see more cosmetics bearing the European Ecolabel.
