Three cosmetics groups receive CDP's Triple A label

Trois groupes cosmétiques décrochent le Triple A du CDP

For the past seven years, the Carbon Disclosure Project (a non-profit organization that measures the environmental performance of companies) has been evaluating several thousand manufacturers on their actions to combat global warming, preserve forests and conserve water. CDP has just released the results of its 2024 audit campaign. Kao Corporation, Kering and L’Oréal all managed to obtain the three precious A grades.

It’s time for transparency! This year, the CDP recorded a record participation rate. 22,700 companies responded to in-depth questionnaires on how they deal with environmental issues.

The organization is delighted with this record participation rate, which shows that manufacturers are lifting the veil on their value chain.
However, only 2% of companies assessed achieved all three A grades.

“With only 8 companies reaching the A-list, it is clear that while many companies are committed to sustainable development, their action needs to be deeper and faster,” said the CDP. “Companies that are reporting are demonstrating what needs to be done to adapt to the future: integrate environmental data into fundamental business decisions, engage their value chains and clearly define the way forward for an Earth-friendly future.”

Kao Corporation, Kering and L’Oréal can all boast of belonging to the exclusive club of top-rated companies. Metsä Board Corporation, a supplier of paper packaging for the cosmetics industry, also features in the ranking.
