Responsibility is at the heart of most manufacturersâ strategies. And glass packaging supplier Verescence is no exception. The company has published its sixth sustainability report to highlight its CSR policy and commitments.
Glass made to last⊠thatâs the name of the 2023 sustainability report on the companyâs activities in 2022.
Highlights include:
âą 20% reduction in CO2 emissions (scopes 1 and 2)
âą 98% closed-loop recycling of water used in industrial processes at our sites, and a 50% reduction in water consumption
âą 62% of bottles produced from post-consumer recycled glass (PCR),
âą A preference for short supply chains, with 97% of purchases from local suppliers
âą A lost-time accident frequency rate of less than 5, 2.5 times lower than the industry average
âą Parity in hiring, with 52% women recruited, including in production, quality, molding and maintenance
âVerescenceâs significant advances, illustrated in this sixth sustainability report, are only possible thanks to a solid governance and performance system. In 2022, our efforts were rewarded once again by EcoVadis, which awarded us a platinum medal, as well as by CDP, which awarded us a double âAâ for our leadership in climate action and water management,â said Thomas Riou, CEO of Verescence.
