The four pillars of beauty in 2026

Les quatre piliers de la beauté en 2026

The US contract manufacturer Accupac has published its annual trends report, “Future Forward 2026”, produced in collaboration with Cobalt Labs, its research and innovation department. The report identifies four key trends: the importance of evidence, sustainability in formulations, adaptive cosmetics and biotechnology.

By 2026, the beauty industry will no longer just make promises, it will deliver. Consumers want to see, feel and measure the results. High prices and grandiose claims no longer appeal to them: 64% of consumers no longer believe that a premium product is necessarily more effective than a mass-market product. For Accupac, brands must offer effects that are noticeable from the moment of application: the immediate sensation is just as reassuring as clinical data.

Sustainability moves up a gear
Consumers want a measurable environmental impact, not marketing rhetoric. This demand is reflected in water-free formats, upcycled active ingredients and minimalist formulations.

Cosmetics tailored to your mood
Consumers now expect products capable of adapting to their current state: stress levels, sleep quality, weather or mood. Mental wellbeing is central to this trend. 52% of British adults already use fragrance to feel better.

The era of biotechnology
Consumers are no longer satisfied with what is simply “natural”. 61% Indians believe that scientific ingredients are more effective than natural ingredients at treating severe skin problems.
