Since 9 October 2024, the date on which the amendments to the Cosmetic Regulations came into force, Health Canada has provided operators with a revised form to meet the new product notification requirements. It has just announced a forthcoming update of this form.
This update, scheduled for March 2025, is intended to improve the functionality of the form and clarify the declaration requirements.
Section 2 - Product
• New optional field will be added for directions of use of the cosmetic – the notifier will be able include information about the directions of use as they appear on the label.
• New optional field will be added for warning and cautionary statements – the notifier will be able to include the warnings and cautionary statements as they appear on the label.
Section 3 - Notifier
• New field will be added to allow the notifier to indicate their preferred language of correspondence.
Section 4 - Manufacturing, importing, label and other contact
• This section will be renamed to “Manufacturing, importing, label and other contact” in order to describe more adequately the information captured in this section.
• A new contact type for the “Formulator or third party manufacturer” will be added.
• The contact type “Formulator or third party manufacturer” represents the person who formulated the cosmetic or the third party who manufactured the cosmetic.
