Hydroxycitronellal, Glyoxylic Acid: Requests for Opinions to the SCCS
On April 30, the SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety) approuved, by written procedure, two mandates from the European Commission: one concerns the safety assessment of Hydroxycitronellal, and the other that of Glyoxylic Acid.
Acetophenone: preliminary Opinion of the SCCS
Following the opinion of the RAC (Risk Assessment Committee) of the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency), which recommended classifying Acetophenone as Rep. 1B, the Commission mandated the SCCS to assess the safety of the substance in cosmetics. The Scientific Committee has just published its preliminary Opinion.
