On 19 December 2025, the FEBEA (French Federation of Beauty Companies) published a second Practical Guide on the topic of biodiversity on its website.
“Biodiversity is an essential foundation for the cosmetics sector, as a significant proportion of its ingredients and expertise depend directly on living organisms and the proper functioning of ecosystems. Preserving biodiversity means preserving companies’ ability to innovate, secure their supplies and ensure the long-term viability of their activities,” the FEBEA says.
Following on from the first guide published in 2021 and the work carried out as part of the Roquelaure “Businesses and Biodiversity” initiative, the FEBEA is publishing this second practical guide to support the sector in taking an increasingly structured approach to issues related to living organisms.
Aimed primarily at SMEs, it offers a step-by-step approach, from diagnosis to action, incorporating in particular a dual sectoral materiality analysis. It identifies concrete levers in terms of procurement, packaging and site management, and draws on testimonials from companies and an overview of existing tools.
The document, entitled Biodiversity and Cosmetics: A Practical Guide for SMEs and Committed Stakeholders in the Sector, is available free of charge on the FEBEA website.
