Cosmetic Valley projects itself into the post-Covid-19 era

La Cosmetic Valley se projette dans l'après-Covid-19

“Responsibility, Agility, Solidarity and Innovation will be the key words of the recovery, which is likely to be ultra-competitive, especially with Asian players”, according to Christophe Masson, CEO of Cosmetic Valley. To this end, the cluster is launching the industry’s Estates General to collectively take up the post-Covid 19 challenge.

Hardly experienced by companies, particularly by VSEs and SMEs which make up 85% of the industrial fabric of the perfumery and cosmetics industry, the Covid-19 pandemic has generated an unprecedented crisis for the sector’s economy.
For the Cosmetic Valley, this exceptional situation requires a collective dynamic to take up the challenge of an efficient and sustainable recovery. It also provides an opportunity to draw lessons from the crisis in order to re-examine models and practices, to better take into account environmental impact, product safety, CSR, sustainable development and short circuits and thus consolidate “Made in France”.

The cluster is thus launching a collective dynamic to federate the actors of the national eco-system, organize the post-Covid 19 and initiate a reflection on the future of the perfumery-cosmetics sector. Organized in collaboration with local authorities, the French State, the European Commission, FEBEA, CNEP and CNRS, this “Estates General” dynamic is based on a three-stage process.
1. From 1 to 30 June: collection of issues and proposals from players in the sector: online participatory consultations, open to industrialists, entrepreneurs, teachers and researchers.
2. From 1 July to 30 September: thematic workshops to build the recovery plan: territorial, national and European recovery units.
