
The Brand Finance ranking lists the world’s most powerful cosmetics companies. After five years on the top step of the podium, L’Oréal has been overtaken by Chanel.
“The Chanel brand is valued at $27.3 billion, more than 1.75 times the $15.6 billion of L’Oréal, which nevertheless posted a 17% increase this year,” comments Brand Finance.

Brand Finance lists the top 50 most powerful companies in the world. Between them, they have a combined value of $160 billion.

According to the report’s data, Guerlain had the fastest brand value growth in the ranking, up 23% to $7.7 billion, thanks to innovation and strong momentum in its fragrance category.
“France has overtaken the USA as the leading contributor to the overall value of cosmetics companies, now accounting for almost 47% of the ranking total.
