The cardboard packaging supplier has revised its sustainability objectives as part of its CSR policy. New features include staff diversity and workplace safety.
Metsä Board’s new or revised sustainability objectives for 2030 are as follows:
• Increase the target share of certified wood fiber to 100%
• Reduce greenhouse gas emissions from purchased logistics by 30%
• Exclude wood raw materials and purchased pulp from the tracking of fossil fuel-free raw materials and packaging materials, in order to be able to more easily track the progress of other fossil fuel-free raw materials
• Extend the “zero workplace accidents” objective to subcontractors in addition to in-house staff
• Assess employee satisfaction each year using the Metsä for All Index (which measures employees’ experience of how the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion are implemented)
• Increase the proportion of women in management positions to 35% from the previous 30%
Reports on the updated targets will be provided as early as 2025.
