In line with the National Strategies (SNPE 1 and SNPE 2), adopted in 2014 and 2019 respectively, aimed at limiting exposure to endocrine disruptors (EDs), the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Ministry of Health have just published the 2026–2030 action plan, designed to continue efforts to reduce the impact of endocrine disruptors on health and the environment.

This action plan, which was the subject of a consultation in the spring of 2026, is structured around six priorities (each comprising two key measures), from which 20 actions derive. Cosmetics are mentioned on several occasions.

The priorities

Priority 1: Working closely with the public by supporting local stakeholders to build healthier environments with regard to EDs
• Support local authorities in implementing measures such as “green prescriptions” to protect pregnant women and unborn children
• Promote eco-maternity units and best practices in early-years care settings, including nurseries

Priority 2: Train, inform and communicate to empower everyone to take action
• Guide consumer purchasing decisions by providing information on the presence of EDs in products, particularly through labelling (including on cosmetics)
• Raise public awareness by incorporating the issue of EDs into major national and international events (World Health Day, Science Festival, etc.)

Priority 3: Protecting and supporting the most exposed and vulnerable populations
• Inform patients about exposure to EDs, working in partnership with the National Health Service and during preventive health check-ups
• Roll out the PREVENIR platforms to address the environmental causes of infertility and pregnancy complications at an earlier stage
