How equal are men and women in the cosmetics industry?

Every year, French companies with at least 50 employees must calculate and publish their professional equality index by March 1 at the latest. This is an opportunity to take stock of the situation and, for some companies, to use it as a positive communication tool.

Egapro. This is the nickname for the Index of Professional Equality and Balanced Representation of Women and Men. Designed to promote equal pay for women and men within companies, it provides a transparent way of measuring gender pay gaps. Several criteria are taken into account, such as pay gaps or rate of increase, promotion gaps, and returns from maternity leave, to arrive at a score out of 100.

Each year, by March 1 at the latest, this index must be calculated and published, and also sent to the Social and Economic Committee and to the offices of the Minister of Labor.
And it does not stop at simply reporting the findings, since when wage disparities are identified, corrective measures must be taken. Companies with an index score of less than 85 points must set and publish targets for improvement for each of the Index indicators. Those with less than 75 points must publish the corrective measures they have defined, both externally and within the company.
