CosmeticOBS: Byome Labs focuses on the microbiome as it applies to beauty. In a few words, how would you describe your company today and the need you meet for brands?

Margaux Jeanmougin: Byome Labs is a microbiology laboratory specializing in the study of the impact of cosmetic, dermo-cosmetic, and pharmaceutical products on microbiomes, particularly those of the skin, scalp, mouth, and vagina.
Today, we are meeting a very specific need for brands: to understand, objectify, and control the interaction between their products and microbial ecosystems. The microbiome has become a key strategic focus, both scientifically and in terms of regulation and marketing, but it remains complex to understand. Brands need reliable, interpretable, and actionable data to ensure the safety of their formulations, guide their R&D, and support their claims. And that is precisely our expertise at Byome Labs.
Our role is to provide a clear and actionable scientific interpretation of the microbiome to help brands develop products that are even more relevant, safer, and more consistent with the actual physiology of the skin and mucous membranes.
