With the holidays approaching, the online price comparison site Idealo analyzed price trends for several product categories over the thirteen weeks leading up to Christmas. The goal? To identify the most strategic times to make purchases at the best prices. The results confirm that Black Friday remains the most advantageous time for beauty purchases.
According to data collected over the last three years (2022–2023–2024), women’s perfumes, men’s perfumes, and facial care products have their lowest average prices on Black Friday:
• €58 for a women’s perfume
• €57 for a men’s perfume
• €36 for a facial care product
In the week before Christmas, these prices rise slightly to $67, $67, and $52.
On average, the beauty categories analyzed cost $60 during Black Friday, compared to $63 during the week just before Christmas.
“Black Friday remains the time when consumers can get the best prices on perfumes and skincare products”” says idealo.
For consumers, these modest differences indicate a real interest in planning their purchases in advance, particularly in beauty segments that are traditionally popular at the end of the year.
For brands, the study highlights the growing role of promotional events in preparing for Christmas shopping.
