
In its new showroom in Paris’s 17th arrondissement, Innovative Beauty Group (IBG) showcases its expertise at the crossroads of design and product innovation. CosmeticOBS met with Xavier Leclerc de Hautecloque, founder of the group, to discuss his vision, his unique brand support model, and his latest news.
CosmeticOBS: Can you tell us about IBG and its position in the beauty industry?
Xavier Leclerc de Hautecloque: Innovative Beauty Group is a project management and design company in the beauty sector. We currently have around 450 experts in more than 11 countries. In terms of business, 50% of our revenue comes from distributors, 25% from distributors specializing in beauty, and 25% from brands.
We are present in all product categories, with color accounting for around 35% of our revenue. We also work in skincare, haircare, personal care, fragrance and home fragrance, home cleaning, and accessories.
Approximately 85% of our business is generated through turnkey sales, including products with formulas or accessories, and 15% through packaging sales alone.
Our job is to support our clients as an extension of their team. We work for them, without bias towards any particular solution. We are completely “product agnostic” and do not have direct sales capabilities.
Our second pillar is design to cost: we develop the product and design, then manage an ecosystem tailored to each customer’s price positioning.
