He’s a “new face” at the French FEBEA, and he hasn’t arrived in the easiest place, as he’s in charge of scientific and regulatory affairs… In the extremely evolving context of this field at present, Brice Leclerc raised three topical issues in an interview he gave to CosmeticOBS.

CosmeticOBS: You recently joined the FEBEA. What are your first impressions and how do you see your mission?

Brice Leclerc: I joined FEBEA just over 3 months ago, to manage the Federation’s work on regulatory and scientific issues in the cosmetics sector. In this job, I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by a benevolent and dynamic management team, and to be able to call on the solid expertise of my colleagues, enabling us to keep abreast of national and European cosmetics and chemical regulations, and to anticipate their evolution.
My mission is to support our members in implementing the regulatory obligations applying to cosmetics companies and to answer all their questions: ingredients, claims, labeling, consumer information, quality and standardization… and to make available several tools and services to guide them through the process: themed webinars, recommendations, FAQs, practical guides and regular newsletters.
Since 2014, we’ve been offering all operators in the cosmetics industry the mutualization of audits of suppliers and distributors of cosmetic raw materials. I oversee this service, which enables subscribers to benefit from an interesting solution for reducing costs, optimizing processes and strengthening relations with suppliers.
