
Artificial intelligence is making its way into the daily lives of the French. According to a recent OpinionWay survey for Retail Tech, consumers see advantages in this new technology being used by retailers.
This survey was carried out with a sample of 1,128 people. Interviews were conducted from April 2 to 4, 2025.
Results
71% of respondents believe that the deployment of in-store AI solutions could have at least one positive impact on their online shopping experience.
They are 46% to imagine that AI would help them get better advice.
In detail, panellists believe that the use of this technology would make it possible to:
• Know product availability in real time (34%)
• Reduce the time spent searching for a product (29%)
• Benefit from relevant personalized offers or promotions (29%)
• Manage a return or refund (25%)
• Have a 24/7 customer support (24%)
• Guarantee more accurate delivery tracking (23%)
• Provide more relevant recommendations (22%)
• Set up personalized and efficient automated customer assistance (17%)
• Receive suggestions for eco-responsible purchases (17%)
• Reduce waiting time for payment (12%)
Respondents also indicated that they would like to have artificial intelligence services in-store, such as:
• Automatic price comparators or real-time reviews
• Virtual mirrors / virtual fitting (clothes, make-up…)
• Real-time product personalization (size, color, configuration, etc.)
• Voice assistants to help find a product …
