With the global fragrance market showing sustained growth since 2021, Euromonitor outlines a future in which innovation, personalization and ecological awareness are the driving forces of the sector.

Practicality is becoming a decisive criterion in consumer choices. Small-format bottles are gaining ground, particularly with the younger generations, who see them as a more affordable way of accessing luxury. “Consumers prefer compact formats, easy to slip into a bag or take on a trip,” points out Euromonitor.
In the same spirit, body mists are emerging as an economical and refreshing alternative. “Premium versions, which combine a low price with olfactory quality, are becoming increasingly popular in a budget-conscious context.”

Towards the end of the signature fragrance?

Loyalty to a single fragrance is giving way to the creation of veritable “perfume wardrobes”.
Consumers now adapt their fragrances to suit their mood, the occasion or the season. This approach is particularly appealing to Generation Z, who are fond of variety and personal expression. “Changing perfume becomes a way of reflecting one’s mood of the day,” observes Euromonitor.

At the same time, so-called “functional” scents are gaining ground. Lavender, bergamot or jasmine are no longer just olfactory notes: they are sought after for their soothing, energizing or stimulating effects. “Perfume is becoming a tool for mental well-being,” analyses the firm.
