• 8th European “CMR” Regulationn
The European Union published Regulation (EU) 2026/78, the eighth annual text aimed at banning or regulating substances recently classified as CMR. It transposes the 22nd ATP of the CLP Regulation into the Cosmetics Regulation and is applicable on the same date: May 1, 2026. In particular, it prohibits N,N’-Methylenebisacrylamide, modifies the restrictions for Silver and Hexyl Salicylate, and adds Sodium o-Phenylphenate to the list of authorized preservatives.

• Discarded unsold products
As part of the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 (known as the “Ecodesign Regulation”), the European Commission was required to define common details for the disclosure of information regarding discarded unsold consumer products and a common disclosure format. This has now been done, with the publication of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/2 on February 10, 2026.
