Two cosmetics brands enter the “Marque Préférée des Français” ranking

For the tenth year running, Marque Préférée des Français has compiled a list of the industrial players that have captured the hearts of consumers. The 2025 barometer, carried out in partnership with the OpinionWay polling institute, has just been published. A pleasant surprise for the beauty industry: two cosmetics brands feature in the overall ranking.

To design this 2025 observatory, 4,900 consumers gave their opinions on 1,300 brands.

Key findings

“81% of French people trust brands, and nearly three out of four attach importance to the brands they buy. This importance is even more pronounced in the hygiene-beauty and food sectors, reflecting a search for reassurance about the sanitary quality of products. Young people aged 18 to 24 (83%) are particularly looking for innovation, commitment and listening on the part of brands,” explains OpinionWay.

According to the polling institute, the 2025 edition of the ranking highlights the general public’s renewed interest in consumption. “74% of French people say they attach importance to the brands they choose. While they have been somewhat battered in recent months by inflation, they remain a solid indicator for consumers in their purchasing decisions. Thus, the importance attached to the brand they choose is particularly marked in the hygiene-beauty sector for 79% of French people surveyed, closely followed by food (78%) and home care (73%), with all due respect to private labels,”

The pleasure of consuming will make a comeback in 2025, with particularly strong momentum in sectors focused on well-being and comfort.
