
What has happened over the last six months? In this “Ingredients” section of the summer Round-ups: a summary of the SCCS Opinions and ECHA’s work. On the SCCS side, a number of final Opinions are already being incorporated into a draft Regulation (Thimersal, Cannabidiol…), whilst work continues on certain fragrance ingredients (Heliotropine, Acetophenone, Cyclamen aldehyde, Cuminaldehyde, p-Cymene…) and on exposure to salicylic acid. As for ECHA, there is a significant number of cosmetic ingredients at risk of being classified under CLH as CMR substances or endocrine disruptors (Dimethyl Imidazolidinone, Benzotriazole, the preservatives Climbazole and Benzylhemiformal, Padimate O), whilst draft REACH restrictions (PFAS, Octocrylene…) are progressing, slowly but surely…
