Express delivery: the new expectation of beauty consumers

In an increasingly digitalized cosmetics market, fast delivery services are now emerging as a decisive factor in the purchasing process. An OpinionWay study for Uber Direct, conducted in June 2025, highlights the growing interest among French consumers in personalized express delivery, particularly among young consumers and regular online shoppers.

The survey was conducted by OpinionWay from May 26 to June 8, 2025, among 2,139 people aged 18 and over who had purchased cosmetics online and/or in stores in the past 12 months.

E-commerce is well established

63% of French people buy their cosmetics online. This proportion rises to 76% among those under 50 and 73% in the Île-de-France region. While stores still play a role, digital shopping is becoming increasingly popular due to its convenience: purchases can be made at any time (51%), access to exclusive offers (44%), and home or workplace delivery (38%).
In this context, delivery times are becoming a decisive factor. 21% of buyers say that long delivery times can discourage them from making a purchase, while 53% say they are interested in express delivery (including 22% who are very interested).

Strong demand among young people and urban dwellers

Interest in this service peaks among those under 35 (82%) and residents of large urban areas (57%). Residents of the Paris region are particularly receptive (60%), as are those in higher socio-professional categories and regular online shoppers, all of whom are willing to pay more for this service.
