FEBEA and Cosmed in support of Omnibus VI

La FEBEA et Cosmed en défense de l'Omnibus VI

“Brussels could delay the ban on toxic and hazardous substances in cosmetics”, “Because our health is worth it, let’s keep campaigning against Omnibus VI”, “LVMH and L’Oréal are spending millions to delay the ban on the sale of their carcinogenic products”, “Toxic cosmetics could remain on the shelves for years to come”, “85% of cosmetics likely to contain carcinogenic substances: will there soon be a five-year delay in removing them?”…
Warning messages are multiplying and are being widely reported in the mainstream press.

The focus is on the Omnibus VI proposal put forward by the European Commission, which is due to be debated in Parliament on 15 April in committee and on 29 April in plenary.
The overall aim of the text is to reduce the administrative burden on businesses and to adapt the requirements of the Cosmetics Regulation, particularly Article 15 on the management of CMRs, to the realities on the ground and their technical implementation.
Sylwia Jaczewska, from the European Commission’s DG GROW, explained this in detail during a presentation at the 26th Cosmed Regulatory Congress, the minutes of which are available here.
