Animal testing
This was one of the responses to the “Save cruelty-free cosmetics” ECI, which was validated in early 2023. The European Commission had committed to launching a roadmap to reduce animal testing in the safety assessment of chemicals. It has just published the roadmap, with implementation set to begin immediately.

Regulation 2024/1328
The 6 June marked the entry into force of Regulation (EU) 2024/1328 of 16 May 2024, and the ban on D6 in rinse-off cosmetic products.

Omnibus VI
Political negotiations between the Commission, the Council and the Parliament on Omnibus VI (the European Commission’s proposal to simplify the requirements applicable to chemicals) were concluded on the evening of 16 June 2026, with an agreement that paves the way for the text to be published.
